AEMET forecasts drastic weather changes in the islands this weekend

As the week progresses, the drastic change in weather in the Canary Islands, with a threat of rain over the weekend, continues to materialize. The weather forecast for today (Thursday) in Tenerife and the western islands shows it will be partly cloudy this morning getting more intense and overcast later in the day, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

Temperatures will experience a slight to moderate drop, ranging from a maximum of 27 degrees in San Sebastián de La Gomera to a minimum of 17 degrees in Santa Cruz de La Palma.

There will only generally be a light wind with breezes on coasts and stronger gusts in mountainous areas from the northwest.

In Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura, there will also be partly cloudy skies, tending to become cloudier towards the end of the day, with lower temperatures of 24 degrees on the south coasts and minimums of 18 degrees.

The wind will be moderate from the northeast on the coasts, and occasionally stronger in the west and southeast in the second half of the day, and from the north-northwest in foothills and summits. Only breezes on the southwest coasts.
