In the latest weather update provided by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the Canary Islands are set to experience a variety of weather conditions this Thursday. Clear and sunny skies are predicted across the archipelago, except for some coastal areas in the north where intermittent cloud cover is expected during the early and late hours of the day.
There will be a subtle increase in temperatures and moderate winds blowing from the northeast throughout the day, particularly in low areas of the southeast and northwest of the bigger islands. Gusts of wind may intensify during the second half of the day, meanwhile, summits will experience light winds from variable directions, gaining strength as night falls.
Mariners should take note of the sea conditions, as the wind is forecasted to come from the northeast at a force of 3 to 5, reaching 6 in specific coastal points. Seas will be rough, accompanied by strong waves, which are expected to subside, especially in Tenerife and the western islands. Additionally, a northwest swell reaching around two metres in height is predicted.
