13-year-old boy dies after electric scooter accident in Fuerteventura

A tragic accident in the early hours of Wednesday morning has left the community of Fuerteventura in shock, after a 13-year-old boy lost his life in a fall from an electric scooter in the municipality of Pájara.
The incident took place shortly after 3:00 am on Avenida Saldar, when emergency services were alerted by the Guardia Civil.
The child had reportedly suffered a violent fall and was found unconscious at the scene. Medical teams responded immediately, but despite their efforts to resuscitate him, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene after going into cardiac arrest.
Initial reports indicate that the child was riding an electric scooter, though the exact circumstances surrounding the fall remain under investigation. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the victim was wearing a helmet or any form of protective gear.
The Guardia Civil and Local Police are working together to determine what may have caused the accident, whether it was a result of losing control, a hidden obstacle on the road, excessive speed, or poor visibility during the early morning hours.
The sudden loss has deeply affected the local community, with residents expressing their sorrow and support for the boy’s family.
