The president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, announced yesterday that "these aids are the second line of subsidies to the self-employed and SMEs and complement the 5.5 million already allocated to help deal with situations of small companies and self-employed workers lack of liquidity derived from months of inactivity or systematic reduction of income."
Martín explained that these new direct subsidies to the self-employed and micro-SMEs on the island of Tenerife, are already in place with a budget of nine million euros, and self-employed people may receive up to a maximum of 6,500 euros.
"We know that it is impossible to save everyone's livelihood, but, without a doubt, they are an aid that can help to pay debts and thereby ensure that companies and freelancers can apply for more important grants such as those of the Government of the Canary Islands and Spain”, he said.
“This is the second line of subsidies that we have opened to the self-employed and SMEs, and it is important to highlight that the Cabildo is the first institution that doesn’t require beneficiaries to be up to date with tax obligations with the Hacienda or with Social Security, both at the time of granting and payment of the corresponding subsidy, which will facilitate obtaining them”, clarified the president.
These grants, which were approved yesterday by the Institution's Governing Council, will be managed and processed by the Canary Island Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development. Those self-employed persons or small companies whose annual turnover does not exceed 2,000,000 euros and have less than ten salaried people on the workforce may be beneficiaries of this aid.
The application forms, duly completed and addressed to the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (FIFEDE), must be submitted electronically through the FIFEDE Electronic Office (sede.fifede.org) once it is published in the BOC, and the deadlines established by law have been fulfilled.
