The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands have now administered 622,846 doses of vaccines against Covid-19, of the 652,930 received, which represents 95.39 percent of arrivals to the archipelago. Up until yesterday, there are 175,941 people who have received the two doses of the vaccine, representing 9.40% of the target population of 1,871,033 people.
According to their forecasts between today Friday 30th April, when 72,400 doses will be received from AstraZeneca and 7,800 from Moderna, until May 28th, a total of 426,760 doses of vaccines will arrive in the archipelago.
With these, a total of 1,086,060 doses will have been delivered to the Canary Islands since the vaccination campaign began on December 27th last year. Currently they are asking anyone born pre 1948 (over 73 years old) living in Tenerife or Gran Canaria, that hasn’t received a call or SMS message for a vaccination appointment, to call 012 as soon as possible to arrange one. Please note this is all done in Spanish.

Group 3: 100% one dose and 28.64% two doses. Non front-line health and social health personnel:

Group 5: 77.63% one dose and 27.71% two doses. People aged over 60.
Group 5A: People aged 80 and over (COMPLETE)
Group 5B: People from 70 to 79 years old (Janssen single dose vaccine)
Group 5C: People from 60 to 69 years old (AstraZeneca vaccine)
Group 6: 28.52% one dose. Groups with an essential function for society: police, army, emergency services, teachers.
Group 7: 49.12% one dose. People under 60 years of age with severe Covid-19 high risk conditions, ie health complications such as diabetes or ashma.
Group 8: People aged 56-59 years (NOT STARTED YET)
Group 9: People aged 45-55 years (NOT STARTED YET)
The Ministry of Health reminds the importance of attending your appointment to receive vaccination, since the schedules are organized according to the available vaccines and the target population to be vaccinated at all times, so any cancellations or no-shows can lead to a mismatch in plans. The appointment is made by SMS or by phone call.
