The Ministry of Health has reported that March has ended with 230 new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands, and four Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours. Of the new cases 120 are in Tenerife, 100 in Gran Canaria, 9 in Fuerteventura, and 2 in Lanzarote. Total cases have now reached 46,827 since the pandemic began, with 4,269 still active, 81 admitted to ICU, 295 in hospital wards, and 3,893 are in home isolation.
Todays deaths, three in Gran Canaria and one in Tenerife, take the total number of people that have lost their lives to 673 since the first case was detected in the Canary Islands on January 31st last year.
Regarding the Accumulated Incidence (AI) in the Canary Islands, over 7 days it has dropped to 60.16 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and over 14 days it falls to 129.64 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Likewise, a total of 963,702 PCR tests have been carried out on the islands, 3,073 in the last 24 hours, of which 50,824 have been positive, representing 5.27% overall.
