The Ministry of Health has registered 175 new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands today, of which 106 new cases are in Tenerife, 47 in Gran Canaria, 17 are in Lanzaorte, 3 in Fuerteventura, 1 in La Palma, 1 in El Hierro, and none in La Gomera. They also reported of two deaths, both in Gran Canaria.
Active cases in the islands rose slightly today, as there were only 138 people medically discharged, but incidence rates for the islands as a whole went down again, to 47.75 over 7 days and 112.46 over 14 days.
Later today the Governing Council will announce any changes to alert levels in the islands, and it looks very possible that Gran Canaria will go down to Level 2 as their data is still following a downward trend, whereas Tenerife will stay at Level 3, because although stabilising, it is not reducing enough as yet.
