The Ministry of Health have notified of 121 new cases of coronavirus today, taking the total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands to 52,959 of which 3,482 are active. 73 of these are admitted to ICU and 261 remain hospitalized in wards, and in the last 24 hours there have been no Covid related deaths reported for the 3rd day running.
The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 45.27 cases per 100,000 inhabitants today, and has now been below 50 for six consecutive days. The IA14 is at 97.84 cases per 100,000 inhabitants which is great news at is has dipped below 100.
By islands, Tenerife has added 63 cases today, just 24 hours before the Governing Council will review the islands data to see if the alert level can be reduced to two, Gran Canaria adds 48 cases, Lanzarote adds seven new cases, and Fuerteventura adds three new cases. La Palma, nEl Hierro, and La Gomera haven’t added any new cases in the last 24 hours.
The Ministry have also updated the vaccination data which now shows that 641,797 vaccine doses have been administered, and 185,938 people have been immunised, ie, have had two doses or the Janssen single dose. In addition, there are now 456,060 people in the Archipelago who have received at least one dose of the vaccine, which is, 24.37% of the target population.
