Passengers angry about changes to bus routes in the south of Tenerife

TITSA unveiled changes to the schedules and routes of several bus lines in the south of Tenerife this week, aiming to "improve punctuality and travel time", with changes taking effect from this Monday, February 5th. However, regular passengers and parents are not happy about the modifications saying they are impractical and that some students will now have to get two buses to schools instead of one.

TITSA have announced that Line 471 (Los Cristianos – Costa Adeje – Playa Paraíso) will extend its route to Callao Salvaje, a destination not previously part of its route. Additionally, adjustments to the schedules of this line will be made to "better meet the needs of customers."

However, this means that Line 473 (Los Cristianos – Costa Adeje – Los Gigantes) will no longer make stops at Callao Salvaje. This change is expected to improve punctuality and reduce travel time for this route.

The new route for these lines, which will follow the El Puertito road, will involve the elimination of stops at Cristoforo and Playa Paraíso. As an alternative, passengers will need to use the stops at the Rosa Centre and Las Cancelas.

Schedule changes on other routes:

In addition to these alterations, TITSA will also update the schedules of three lines in the urban service of Santa Cruz de Tenerife: lines 934 and 936 (Intercambiador-Taco-Santa María del Mar-Añaza-Intercambiador), and line 974 (night service with the same route). The objective of these changes is also to "improve punctuality."

Other routes that will see schedule modifications for the same purpose include lines 014 and 015 (Santa Cruz-La Laguna), 026 (Santa Cruz-La Laguna via Barrio La Salud and Finca España), 421 (Valle San Lorenzo-La Camella-Cabo Blanco-IES Las Galletas), and 467 (Costa del Silencio-Los Cristianos-Estación Costa Adeje-La Caleta).

Finally, Line 416 (Granadilla de Abona-San Miguel de Abona-Valle San Lorenzo-Los Cristianos) will add an additional trip in each direction. There will be an extra departure from Granadilla at 8:10am, and from Los Cristianos, there will be an additional service at 4:00pm.

All schedules can be checked on the website www.titsa.com, Titsa's customer service phone at 922.53.13.00, and through the company's social media channels and app.
