The president of Tenerife, Pedro Martín, alongside the mayor of Granadilla de Abona and the director of the Tenerife Sur airport, opened the newly renovated Tourist Information Office at Tenerife South airport yesterday (Monday), which has been modernised to make a more open, accessible and digitized space for visitors to the island.
Pedro Martín explained that this office is part of the renovation plan of all tourist information offices on the island. "We are doing a complete renovation of all the offices in Tenerife because we need to offer a more modern, accessible, and digital image of the destination, and improve service at our airports."
The Mayor of Granadilla, José Domingo Regalado, highlighted the importance of "having a first-rate office in one of the most important tourist destinations in the world" and said that they will also renovate the tourist information office in El Médano.
The insular director of Tourism, Laura Castro, was also there and explained that the objective is to create an information network that shares common design criteria, technological equipment, and updated and innovative content to standardize the image of Tenerife, promote tourist mobility within the island, and continue promoting the competitiveness of the destination.
In June 2022, the Cabildo approved a budget of two million euros for the renovation and improvement of tourist information offices on the island. The office at Tenerife South airport had a total investment of 251,381 euros of which 73% was financed by the Canary Islands Government and 27% by the Cabildo.
Similar works will soon be carried out in other tourist offices in Vilaflor, El Médano, El Sauzal, and the Tenerife North airport.
