A remarkable superyacht captured the attention of passersby strolling along the Santa Cruz de Tenerife waterfront yesterday (Tuesday), the "Boardwalk," a lavish vessel boasting a steel hull, a helipad on the stern featuring a resting Airbus H310 helicopter, and an aluminium superstructure.
Many may wonder who the mastermind is behind this imposing 77-metre-long luxury vessel flying the flag of Grand Cayman. The owner is none other than Tilman Fertitta, the affluent American entrepreneur, whose portfolio includes the restaurant empire Landry’s and NBA team the Houston Rockets, among other ventures. Fertitta's fortune stands at a staggering $8.3 billion, placing him at the 256th spot on Forbes' list.
As revealed by the esteemed Mega Ricos portal, Fertitta commissioned the construction of the Boardwalk, which made its debut in 2021. However, its inaugural visit to the Feadship shipyard in Aalsmeer for fitting took place in December 2019. The price tag attached to this marvel hovers around $150 million.

The Boardwalk isn't the only luxury vessel to have graced the island. Back in December, the likes of the "Black Pearl" (named in homage to Pirates of the Caribbean), belonging to Russian tycoon Oleg Burlakov docked in the capital’s port, worth a staggering €200 million.
Just a month later, in January of this year, the harbour welcomed the "Calex," renowned as the "yacht of the future," owned by David Wilson. Wilson's journey started with the purchase of a Toyota dealership in the United States back in 1985, a business reportedly selling a car every half an hour for the past three decades.
