Hospitalizations for Covid have grown by 14.8% in the Canary Islands in the last week

The number of people hospitalized for Covid in the Canary Islands has increased by 14.8% in the last week, given that yesterday’s (Tuesday's) report from the Ministry of Health shows 527 people in hospital for coronavirus, whereas on July 12th there were 459 patients. It also shows that there are eleven more patients in intensive care since last Tuesday and that there have been 21 deaths in the last week.

In the country as a whole, the number of people in ICU beds, due to Covid, has increased by 9.1% during the last week and, in fact, only Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, Madrid, and Murcia registered decreases in this indicator.

On the other hand, occupancy of conventional hospital beds by Covid patients has decreased in Spain by 9.4%, with only the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Navarra, and La Rioja, the regions showing an increase.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, 694 deaths from the pandemic have been registered since last Tuesday in Spain, 11,579 people are hospitalized, and 547 are in ICU due to Covid.
