Gran Canaria has a new weekly air connection with Baltic countries

The Canarian company Fly To Canarias, through the Global Travel Management platform, has made an agreement to start a weekly flight from the Estonian capital, Tallin, to Gran Canaria, using an Airbus 321 with a capacity close to 200 seats.

The Gran Canaria Tourist Board has launched a promotional campaign to stimulate the Baltic Market and raise interest in visiting the island during this winter season.

“The Nordic and Baltic markets show great interest in Gran Canaria as a priority destination during the winter season and, although the current situation is still uncertain, the future prospects for this region are very interesting for Gran Canaria”, says the Minister of Tourism, Carlos Álamo.

In addition, the Board of Trustees will accompany this business initiative through promotional actions in order to "take advantage of this initiative and expand the presence of Gran Canaria as a brand."

The company 'Fly to Canarias', has 40 years of professional experience in the sector, and began its operations in the Canary Islands the capital of Estonia last Saturday, January 30th. In addition, they have their own, and third-party connectivity, with all the islands from many European cities.

This connectivity will be operational until May 1st, responding to the demand of Nordic customers. However, they hope to be able to extend it to the summer season if the situation allows it.

This business initiative with Baltic countries has operated in the islands before, as between 2001 and 2007 they launched a similar project with this market, which was finally acquired by the Finn Air company.

Now it is seen as an opportunity to increase potential tourism with clients in a wider market, since it not only seeks to increase the connectivity of Estonians, but also to facilitate the movement of potential clients from Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Poland.
