The Canary Islands Government have confirmed that the request for mandatory use of the Covid Certificate is being processed after analyzing the document prepared by the Ministry of Health, for endorsement by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC), to access certain public establishments, public spaces, or public activities for islands on levels 3 and 4, which is currently Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Fuerteventura.
The request that they will present to the TSJC for ratification, starting tomorrow, establishes the need for anyone aged over 12 years and three months old, i.e. anyone who has already had time to be fully vaccinated, a negative test result (PCR or antigen) within a maximum period of 48 hours, or a recovery certificate having passed the disease between the last 11 days and six months, has to present the Covid certificate in the following places:
- All hospitality establishments, hotels open to the public, and any activity with a capacity of at least 30 or more people.
- In nightlife venues or establishments with a capacity greater than 30 people, or in those in which, regardless of their capacity, the consumption of food or drink is allowed.
- In recreational and other activities whose opening license has a capacity of more than 30 people, as well as in those that allow the consumption of food or drink beyond the number of people allowed.
