TUI, the global travel and tourism giant, is gearing up for a promising winter season for 2023/24, as the company reports a significant 15% increase in bookings compared to last year. In a recent announcement, TUI Group unveiled a sneak peek into its year-end forecasts, suggesting that the Hannover-based company has plenty of reasons to celebrate.
The upcoming winter season is showing remarkable growth in reservations, with a 15% rise in bookings compared to the previous year, which the company attributes to a "promising booking situation in all key markets."
The UK stands out as one of the most advanced countries in terms of bookings, with a remarkable 38% of the winter season availability already sold.
Looking back at the summer of 2023, TUI Group reported a 5% increase in sales compared to last year, totalling an impressive 13.7 million customers. To meet the rising demand in the latter part of the summer season, TUI extended its operations, particularly in popular destinations like Greece and Turkey.
Mathias Kiep, the Group Financial Director of TUI, expressed optimism about the company's performance, stating, "Our customers' desire to travel remains strong!" He emphasized that these positive results come amidst a challenging macroeconomic environment.
Kiep also noted, "Travel demand remains robust, and I am eagerly anticipating the fiscal year results on December 6th, 2023, where we will provide more comprehensive insights into our overall operating performance and outlook for the upcoming year."
