Motorcyclist injured in a collision with a car in a tunnel

A 61-year-old man was injured yesterday (Sunday) in an accident between a motorcycle, which the man was riding, and a car in Tenerife shortly before 1:00pm on the TF-42, inside the Los Agujeros tunnel in Garachico.

According to a report from the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES), an alert was received informing them of a collision between a car and a motorcycle, in which the motorcyclist had been injured presenting several moderate injuries.

CECOES dispatched the necessary emergency resources to the location given, and paramedics assessed the man on arrival before stabilising him and then transferring him to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital for further treatment.

The Guardia Civil instructed the corresponding proceedings and controlled the traffic, while Highway Services were responsible for clearing the debris from the road.
