The National Police have arrested a man for an alleged sexual assault on a woman in Playa Las Americas that took place in the early hours of this morning (Monday), in the vicinity of the Columbus hotel on Avenida Santiago Puig, according to sources from the Provincial Police Station.
The Family and Women's Care Unit (UFAM) of the National Police are carrying out the investigation of this case, after activating all the necessary protocols to protect and care for the victim, as well as to take a statement from her, the sources indicated.
At the moment there is no further information about either the victim or the detainee, but it is thought that she is a tourist on holiday, and he is a resident of the island although details of their nationalities or ages have not been released at this stage.
