Woman seriously injured in traffic accident in La Oliva

A 52-year-old woman was seriously injured in a dramatic traffic accident in La Oliva, Fuerteventura, yesterday (Monday), which left three people injured.

The crash, which happened around 12:50pm, involved three cars on the stretch between the FV-101 and FV-100 roads.

In the chaos, one vehicle overturned, prompting an immediate response from the emergency services. When paramedics arrived at the scene, they treated the 52-year-old woman before rushing her to Fuerteventura General Hospital for urgent treatment.

Two other people, a man and a woman, suffered mild neck pain and were also taken to the hospital in ambulances for treatment.

The stretch of road between FV-101 and FV-100 has unfortunately been the scene of several accidents in the past. Known for its challenging curves and occasional poor visibility, this section has been flagged by local authorities as a hotspot for collisions.

Previous incidents have led to calls for increased safety measures, such as improved signage and road markings, to help prevent further accidents. The incident highlights the critical nature of road safety and the swift action of emergency responders in such situations.
