Woman killed in head on accident between two cars in Fuerteventura

One woman has been killed and another needed hospital treatment after a car accident this morning (Sunday) when two cars had a head-on collision at the Cruce de Las Arañas (FV-2), in the municipality of Tuineje in Fuerteventura, according to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

The Department of Security and Emergencies of the Fuerteventura Cabildo reported and released images of the accident on social media, informing that tragically one person had been killed.

CECOES received a call at approximately 9am informing them of the accident, and they activated all the relevant emergency resources. Fire fighters had to cut the driver out of the car as she had been trapped in the collision, but paramedics couldn’t do anything to save her life.

Meanwhile, the driver of the other car, which had overturned due to the impact, suffered a leg injury and was transferred to the Fuerteventura General Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

An investigation has already started into the cause of the accident.
