VIDEO: Police remove two tourists from rocks as they endangered their lives for a selfie
The Local Police have had to evict two foreign tourists who were sitting in a dangerous area on rocks so they could take a selfie, in Betancuria on the west coast of Fuerteventura.
The incident took place in Playa del Valle, and the Fuerteventura Emergency Services have reminded people online, that the Canary Islands are on pre-alert for coastal phenomena and adverse sea conditions, so actions like this are prohibited, dangerous and putting your life at risk.
The police caught the incident on camera and have said that the couple in question were in danger of getting swept away by waves as the rocks they were sitting on are a known ‘dangerous’ area when sea conditions are bad.
