Two injured as car rolls down a ravine in Fuerteventura

Two men were injured yesterday, Friday, after their car veered off the road and rolled down a ravine near Montaña Roja in La Oliva, Fuerteventura.

The accident occurred at around 3:31pm, with the vehicle falling approximately four metres, according to reports from the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

The emergency services were alerted to the incident when a call was received reporting the car leaving the road and dropping into the ravine. Despite the dramatic fall, both occupants of the vehicle managed to get out of the car safely before being rescued by firefighters.

The two men were initially assessed at the scene and were found to have moderate injuries, including multiple contusions, and were treated by medical staff from the Corralejo Health Centre and the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC).

They were then transported to Fuerteventura General Hospital by ambulance for routine observation.

The Guardia Civil attended the scene and has begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
