Police find more than 10 kilos of hashish in a banana plantation in Tenerife

The Local Police seized a large amount of drugs yesterday (Friday) in the municipality of Guía de Isora. They discovered 10.5 kilos of hashish, a substance obtained from cannabis resin or pollen, in a banana plantation split into 980 pieces and vacuum packed in more than 32 plastic bags.

Police were alerted to the plantation in Lomo Las Burras by a citizen making a complaint about the smell of drugs in the area so went to investigate.

The agents have delivered the stash and the corresponding proceedings to the Main Post of the Guardia Civil in the south of Tenerife, which will be in charge of continuing with the investigations to clarify the origin and destination of the drug.

In the meantime, the Guía de Isora Local Police have confirmed that the investigation remains open and more operations related to this case are not ruled out. So far, officials have not communicated whether arrests have been made or not.
