The Guardia Civil have located and detained a 38-year-old woman in Granadilla de Abona in the south of Tenerife, accused of abandoning her dog in the streets as seen in the video that went viral on social media.
The incident happened on June 10th and was caught on camera by a resident, who filmed her pushing the dog out of her car window and then driving off to leave it there.
In the video, you can see the poor dog chasing the car to get to its owner not knowing what was going on, and you could hear the anger and dismay of the person filming it, who also followed her until she stopped and let the animal back in the car again.
The Guardia Civil found the whereabouts of the woman thanks to the video and citizen collaboration after requesting anyone with information to step forward.
The agents have confirmed the dog is in good health and arrested the woman who is in the custody of the Judicial Authority waiting to be sentenced for her actions.
