A man has died following a fire that broke out early on Wednesday morning in a detached house located in Plaza Laurel de Giniginamar, in the municipality of Tuineje, in Fuerteventura.
According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES), firefighters from the Cabildo Emergency Group managed to extinguish the blaze, which caused significant damage to the property and affected its structure.
Upon entering the building, they discovered the body of a deceased man inside.
A doctor and a nurse from the local health centre, along with emergency medical personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), attended the scene but were only able to confirm the man’s death.
Meanwhile, officers from the Local Police and the Guardia Civil assisted other emergency services and have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
