Oscar-winning Spanish actor Javier Bardem is set to begin filming in Fuerteventura this week, and arrives on the island today (Sunday) to join the rest of the production team and the cast.
The latest project for the Bond actor, who is originally from Gran Canaria, is called El ser querido by renowned director Rodrigo Sorogoyen, and is being shot using the island’s striking landscapes as a backdrop.
The decision to film in Fuerteventura is no coincidence. The island has become a sought-after location for international productions, thanks to its unique geography, golden sandy beaches, volcanic formations, and serene atmosphere. These stunning backdrops will play a significant role in the film’s visual storytelling.
For Sorogoyen, the blend of natural beauty and cinematic potential makes Fuerteventura the ideal setting for the film, which explores the intricate relationship between a father and daughter, portrayed by Bardem and actress Victoria Luengo.
