A homeless man, of Spanish nationality, was the victim of a violent attack on Monday in Costa Del Silencio in the south of Tenerife, when he was stabbed several times in the legs by a gang of youths who approached him without saying a word and then fled after the attack.
The incident occurred at around 1:15am on Calle Chasna in Costa Del Silencio, where the man had settled down for the night close to the Chasna B apartment complex, and was attacked with a knife.
He was found on public roads by officers of the Arona Local Police who came to the scene after receiving an alert, and he told them that he had been attacked by a group of youths that he didn’t know and that they had approached him without saying a word.
However, the officers weren’t fully convinced by this and suspect that there could be other reasons behind the attack, so passed the case to the Guardia Civil at the main post in Playa de las Américas, who will now be in charge of clarifying the facts and identifying, locating and arresting the alleged perpetrators.
Meanwhile, the injured man was assisted by medical personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), who transferred him to the Hospital del Sur to receive further treatment. Fortunately, the injuries to his legs are not life-threatening.
