Fuerteventura to have new direct flights from Dublin

Fuerteventura is to have new direct flights from Dublin, part of the island's strategy to boost tourism during the winter months. Aer Lingus will start regular flights from Dublin to Fuerteventura on November 1st, twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The announcement was made during the Dublin Taste Fair, which was attended by Fuerteventura's Minister of Tourism, Marlene Figueroa. Ireland ranks as the fifth largest source market for the island, following Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and the Nordic countries, with 62,600 Irish travellers visiting in 2023.

Figueroa highlighted the importance of increasing regular air connectivity with key source markets, emphasising its significance in the island's promotional efforts.

Further plans to enhance connectivity include new routes by easyJet and Jet2 from various cities in the UK, France, Italy, and Austria. Additionally, Lufthansa has scheduled a direct flight from Munich starting in May 2025.

These efforts highlight Fuerteventura's commitment to strengthening its tourism sector and making the island more accessible to international travellers, particularly during the winter season.
