Flight from Fuerteventura to Manchester lands in France due to storm Eunice

Ryanair have confirmed that flight FR3806, which left the El Matorral airport in Fuerteventura yesterday afternoon (Friday) for Manchester, had to abort its landing at the UK airport due to the strong winds caused by Storm Eunice, and ended up at Bordeaux airport in France, some 850 miles away from its destination.

According to reports, many airports in the UK were affected yesterday due to the force of the storm, so there were no options nearby in the UK. Ryanair requested to land at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, but that too was closed at the time, so had no option but to head south to avoid the winds and land in Bordeaux.
