Fatal accident in Fuerteventura involving three cars
A man has died and another was seriously injured in an accident early on Friday morning, 18th July. The incident took place on the FV-20 road near kilometre 23 in Antigua, Fuerteventura.
The emergency services were alerted to the collision at around 7:50 am, which involved three vehicles. Two ambulances were dispatched to the location given, along with firefighters and Guardia Civil officers.
An off-duty paramedic who happened to be nearby was the first to attend to the victims. Tragically, one man was found trapped inside his car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second man had been thrown from the vehicle and was found at the bottom of a nearby embankment, suffering serious injuries. He was stabilised before being rushed to the General Hospital in Puerto del Rosario.
The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
