CABILDO: This is what has reopened and stayed closed due to the fire in Tenerife

Firefighters have confirmed that the fire in Tenerife is finally contained within the perimeter, but that does not mean that various prohibitions and restrictions are not still in force. The situation continues to be delicate and the public still needs to abide by these and continue taking certain precautions.

The Cabildo de Tenerife has outlined that it is prohibited to light any kind of fire in recreational areas and to use the tracks and forest trails of the municipalities affected by the forest fire. Although the perimeter is stabilised, reactivations are still taking place within the area and many 'hot spots' still remain, especially in the northern area of the fire.

For these reasons, the Cabildo has maintained Level 3 security measures activated in the municipalities affected by the fire. This means, in addition to the aforementioned restrictions, it is prohibited to stay in the mountains and make any fire outdoors (bonfires, stoves, barbecues, gas stoves, etc.), have fireworks displays, or use machinery and tools that cause sparks.

In addition, it is not allowed to circulate with any kind of vehicle on the forest tracks for recreational or sporting purposes, and the camping areas and campsites continue to be closed.

For the rest of the municipalities, grade 2 measures are applied, which means no fires in recreational areas, camping areas and campsites, burning agricultural or forest residues and bonfires. Likewise, hunting continues to be suspended as does work with machinery or tools, and the use of elements that can generate sparks in agricultural or forest spaces, such as brush cutters and welding equipment, are prohibited.

The Councillor for the Natural Environment, Blanca Pérez, said that “the fire is not under control, so the public must continue to comply with the instructions we give from the firefighting department. We recommend that the population do not access or go to the forest areas of Tenerife and that they take extreme precautions throughout the island territory with any activity that could cause a fire”.

TEIDE NATIONAL PARK:
The Cabildo has also informed that the access roads to the Teide National Park via La Esperanza (TF-24) and La Orotava (TF-21) remain closed, as well as the TF-523 (to Los Loros). The accesses to Teide by Vilaflor (TF-21) and Chío (TF-38) are open, but only as far as the Cable Car.

On the other hand, most of the TITSA bus lines affected by the fire have recovered their service. The only one that continues to be suspended is line 348 from Puerto de la Cruz to Orotava to Parque Nacional del Teide.

Lines 345 and 346, Puerto de la Cruz-Orotava-Aguamansa, will only reach the Velo, while the 342 Costa Adeje-Cristianos-Vilaflor-Parque Nacional del Teide route will only reach the Cable Car.

TRAILS CLOSED IN THE NATIONAL PARK:
Regarding the trails of the Teide National Park, the one in La Fortaleza (number 1) is completely closed; Black Sands (number 2); El Filo (number 8), Alto de Guamasa (14); Igueque (17); Fasnia volcano (20); Corral del Niño to La Yegua Blanca (21); Receipt Burned (25); Degollada del Cedro (29); Lemon Mountain (34); Alto de La Fortaleza (36) and number 37, corresponding to the Cerrillar-Carnicería path.
