The National Police have arrested a 42-year-old Hungarian fugitive in the municipality of Adeje in the south of Tenerife, wanted by the judicial authorities of his country who issued a European Arrest Warrant due to his involvement in the crimes of document forgery and fraud with a sentence of three years in prison.
Officers learned of his possible whereabouts after he spent a holiday in a luxury villa in the south of the island, and apparently, he had decided to stay in one of Tenerife's tourist towns afterward.
After carrying out the corresponding investigation, agents confirmed that the fugitive had been located in the town of Adeje, leading a very discreet life to avoid being detected, and proceeded to arrest him
Once detained, he was placed at the disposal of the National Courts which ordered his entry into prison pending his extradition back to Hungary.
The National Police have emphasized the commitment of the security forces in the fight against international crime, saying that thanks to the collaboration between the Hungarian and Spanish authorities the arrest of this fugitive was achieved who will face the legal consequences of his acts.
