A tourist is in serious condition after being run over at Fuerteventura Airport

A 60-year-old male German tourist is in serious condition after being run over by a car in the bus parking area of ​​Fuerteventura Airport, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

The incident occurred around 8:45 yesterday morning (Thursday) as the man was heading to the terminal to catch his flight home after holidaying on the island.

Medical staff at the airport treated the man before SUC paramedics arrived by ambulance to tend to him, and they verified that he had a serious head injury, for which he was transferred by ambulance to the General Hospital in Puerto Rosario.

Local Police officers were also sent to the scene of the incident and prepared the corresponding report as to what was the cause of the accident.
