The TSJC officially validates the extension to limiting group sizes in social gatherings

The Higher Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) has officially ratified the request of the regional government to limit the maximum number of people who do not live together in family and social gatherings in closed or outdoor public spaces, until August 31st.

This extension for restriction to the maximum number of people not living together in family and social gatherings was requested by the Governing Council of the Canary Islands after an extraordinary session held on July 28th.

This limitation corresponds to a maximum of ten people allowed to meet in public, or at home, in alert level 1; a reduced six people at level 2; and a maximum of four at alert levels 3 and 4.

This is the first request that the TSJC has responded to favourably after denying a curfew last week, and ruling yesterday, with a precautionary measure, the suspension of using Covid certificates to enter premises and commercial hours, subject to appeal.
