Government changes limit to number of guests at weddings and celebrations

At yesterdays Governing Council meeting, the Canary Islands Government decided to modify some of the prevention measures and restrictions which specifically affect celebrations in hotels and hospitality venues, street markets and fairs.

With regard to weddings, baptisms, christenings, communions and similar events that take place in hospitality establishments, the limit of people that was in force until now is abolished, and will now be governed by the general capacity measures marked for each level of alert for interiors and exteriors.

Meanwhile, another change affects street markets, as they will not require prior authorization from the health authority, although the municipal authorization for their operation will establish the maximum capacity allowed after assessing the site to guarantee social distancing, flow of people, as well as the rest of the standard health requirements.

Finally, regarding fairground attractions, which will not require prior authorization for their installation from the health authority. The municipal authorization must include the maximum capacity allowed in each attraction, and in the enclosure as a whole, once the possibility of guaranteeing the maintenance of interpersonal distance has been assessed.
