The Canary Islands is continuing with increasing figures as the number of new cases is above 200 for the fifth day running, with 217 detected by the Ministry of Health in the last 24 hours. Tenerife has the most again with 115 new positives, and one more Covid related death on the island, a 61 year old woman affected by a family outbreak, taking the death toll on the island to 350 since the pandemic began.
Tenerife has now accumulated 18,152 of which 2,189 remain active on the island. It is followed by Gran Canaria which has added 80 new cases with1,838 active out of a total of 17,744 detected in total.
Lanzarote continues to keep the spread of the virus under control after weeks of harsh restrictions, registering just two more cases today, and the number of people who are still sick falls to 87, ten less than yesterday. Fuerteventura has 11 new cases and of these, 198 are active. The rest of the positives have been registered in La Gomera, which has four, the same as La Palma, while El Hierro has had one more detected today.
