Yellow warning activated for strong wind and waves in the south of Tenerife

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated a yellow weather warning in the western islands from 3:00pm this afternoon, Sunday February 6th, for strong winds and adverse sea conditions.

According to the Aemet forecast, strong waves are expected with winds up to force 7 on the coasts of the southeast of Tenerife, the northwest and southeast of La Palma, the southeast of La Gomera, and the north and northwest of El Hierro.

35km/h winds are forecast with gusts above 70km/h in the south of Tenerife, and the public are advised to check any flags on beaches before they go into the sea.
