Woman loses a bum bag full of drugs at the Carnival and reports it to the police

The Local Police arrested a 32-year-old woman at the Carnival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Sunday morning, who reported that she had lost her bum bag with her belongings inside, then repeatedly asked officers if they’d found it, and when they did, they found it contained various narcotic substances and materials necessary for their sale and distribution.

The woman, whose initials are JB reported it lost or stolen to agents at the carnival who took her contact details in the event that it was found.

A police patrol, that was circulating through Méndez Núñez, was approached by a citizen who handed in the bum bag saying that he had found it on the street during the Carnival.

The officers took it, and registered it with the Lost and Found department when they returned to their headquarters. During this time, the woman in question had contacted the police several times to ask if it had been found.

As she was on her way to the station to collect it, the Lost and Found department requested that the bag be inspected by sniffer dogs due to her persistence to find it, and confirmed via the dogs that the bag contained narcotics.

When she arrived, they proceeded to open the bag with her there, and found that it contained marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy, 130 euros in cash, plus glass jars and plastic bags to prepare the drugs to sell. There were also two mobile phones that the woman said didn’t belong to her.

After the discovery, she was arrested and charged with possessing narcotic substances, before being passed to the judicial authorities for sentencing.
