The Ministry of Health and the Regional Health authorities have agreed to increase the capacity of sporting events this afternoon, to 100% on March 4th, from the current 85% in outdoor venues and 75% indoors in Spain.
Sources from the Inter-territorial Council of the National Health Service have informed the Efe news agency, that this agreement has been adopted in the face of the positive evolution of the pandemic, which is continuing in a downward trend, even though there is a cumulative 14-day incidence rate of close to 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Spain.
At the moment there is no update on whether masks will still have to be worn at outdoor events, however, it is assumed that they will be as social distancing cannot be maintained at 100% capacity.
The order is due to be published in the BOE in the next few days, however, regional health authorities can decide whether they want to adopt it or not in their area.
