The Local Police save a baby dolphin that was stranded in Las Palmas.

The Local Police were caught on video in the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday), rescuing a stranded baby dolphin on the beach of La Laja and returning it safely to the sea.

The Special Night Unit came to the rescue of the small mammal that was on the shore and struggling to return to the sea.

Other officers recorded them and posted it on the Local Police twitter account for Gran Canaria showing the more human side of the police unit with no shoes or socks on in the sea trying to help the baby dolphin.

We’re pleased to confirm that it returned to sea safely thanks to the help of two officers.
