The 2024 Christmas Lottery has brought €16.82 million in winnings to the Canary Islands, spreading joy across the archipelago. While the jackpot, El Gordo, and the second prize skipped the islands entirely, several fifth and fourth prizes brought cheer to local communities.
Gran Canaria emerged as the luckiest island with €7.028 million in total winnings, followed closely by Tenerife with €5.79 million, and La Palma with €3.196 million. Other islands also shared in the joy, with Lanzarote claiming €640,000, Fuerteventura €106,000, and La Gomera €20,000. El Hierro was the only island where no prizes were won.
Among the highlights of the day, a lottery outlet on Avenida José Mesa y López in Gran Canaria distributed €5.52 million to its customers, selling 920 tickets for the fifth prize number 45456. This was the single largest prize distribution in the Canary Islands this year.

The famous La Chasnera petrol station in Granadilla de Abona, south Tenerife, once again lived up to its reputation as a lucky spot. This year, it distributed over €1.5 million across several prizes, including €950,000 from 19 tickets for the third-prize number 11840, a further €420,000 from 27 tickets for the fourth-prize number 77768, and €20,000 from another fourth-prize ticket for the number 48020.
Lanzarote also saw significant wins, with €500,000 awarded from 10 tickets for the third-prize number 11840 sold at a lottery office on Calle Pérez Galdós in Arrecife.
