A flight from Madrid to Gran Canaria was delayed by 45 minutes on Thursday after a group of drunk passengers were removed from the aircraft before it took off, prompting intervention from the Guardia Civil.
The incident occurred on Binter flight NT-6015, departing from Madrid-Barajas Airport (Terminal 2). The group of ten male travellers on a ‘stag do’ had already drawn attention due to their disruptive behaviour at the airport before boarding, causing unease among fellow passengers.
Captain Takes Action to Ensure Flight Safety
Once on board, concerned passengers alerted the cabin crew about the group's condition. In response, the captain made the decision to remove them, citing potential risks to the safety and security of the flight.
Although the group initially protested, the arrival of Guardia Civil officers ensured their removal without further incident.
As a result of the expulsion, the flight experienced a 45-minute delay, as some of the group's checked baggage had to be identified and removed from the aircraft hold.
The swift action of the crew was met with applause from the remaining passengers, who expressed relief at the prompt handling of the situation.
