European Airports and Areas for Improvement
Despite the CE 261 regulations offering comprehensive passenger rights in Europe, the efficiency in preventing delays over three hours can be improved. AirHelp's methodology accounts for punctuality issues from delays over 15 minutes, which affects European airports' standings.
In contrast, airports in Brazil and Japan excel, with over 80% of flights departing on time, reflected in their higher AirHelp scores.
The AirHelp ranking evaluates airports based on three criteria: punctuality (60%), user reviews (20%), and the quality of restaurants and shops (20%). Data is gathered from AirHelp's extensive platform monitoring over 4,000 airports globally and from the experiences of 17,000 passengers across 60 countries. The current evaluation period covered operations from May 1st 2023, to April 30th 2024.
Tenerife South Airport's inclusion in this prestigious ranking highlights its commitment to providing a high-quality travel experience, demonstrating significant achievement in operational performance and passenger satisfaction.
