The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) have confirmed that temperatures in the Canary Islands will decrease for the next few days, which doesn’t mean it won’t be hot, just not as hot until Friday. Yesterday (Monday) was cooler than the weekend with the highest temperature of 39.7°C, and the Government have temporarily deactivated the alert for high temperatures on all the islands from 6pm yesterday.
AEMET is still forecasting highs of 30-32 degrees in Gran Canaria and Tenerife today, particularly inland and on south-facing slopes of the islands, with some patchy cloud, and haze in both islands which will be more intense in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
Also for today, AEMET is forecasting a northerly wind, more intense on the eastern and western slopes of the more mountainous islands during the early hours; and strong wind from the west, in the summits of Tenerife, where strong gusts will be experienced.
Already for tomorrow, Wednesday, they are forecasting no major changes in temperatures. The highs in general will be below 30 degrees, with the highest that may reach 29º in Mogán, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, or Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura).
