Strong winds and scattered showers forecast today in the Canary Islands

All of the Canary Islands, except Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, are forecast to have overcast skies today with rain during the day in the form of intermittent showers, and strong gusts of wind between 70 and 80km/h, whereas the other two, will be cloudy with some light showers and sunny intervals.

It has been a wet start to the day, as forecast by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), and will continue to do the same until later this evening.

Dangerous sea conditions are also forecast due to the wind, with strong swells and waves between 2 to 3 metres. Caution is advised if swimming, and make sure that the flags are green on the beaches, or that there are lifeguards on site before swimming.

After the clocks changed yesterday, sunrise and sunset have now gone back an hour to 8.00am and 8.22pm respectively.
