Spain extends entry restrictions for another two months

The Ministry del Interior have confirmed in today’s BOE (Boletin Oficial Estado), number A-2022-11722 dated 15th July, that entry restrictions due to Covid have been extended for all travellers from third countries, which includes the UK, for another two months until 15th September 2022.

This means that the current requirements to come to the Canary Islands are still in place for anyone aged 12 or over:

- Proof of vaccination: after 14 days and within 270 days of second jab, or no time limit on booster.

- Valid recovery certificate: after 14 days and within 180 days of testing negative for SARS-Cov-2.

- Negative test result: within 72 hours of travelling if PCR, or 24 hours if an Antigen test.

- Locator form: not necessary if using the NHS Covid Pass, but must be completed if not.

- Under 12’s: no requirements.

Spain is only one of four EU countries that still have entry restrictions due to Covid, alongside France, the Netherlands and Malta, for visitors from outside the European Union, although all four countries say that the requirements are not affecting visitor numbers as tourism continues to recover.
