Spain extends entry requirements for unvaccinated travellers from the UK

The Ministry del Interior in Spain has extended the entry requirements for travellers from third countries, which includes the UK, for another two weeks as published in today’s BOE (Official State Boletin), “for reasons of public order and public health due to the health crisis caused by COVID-19.”

It says that “the temporary restriction on non-essential travel from third countries under Order INT/657/2020 end on April 30, 2022, so, since the Council Recommendation has not changed, it is appropriate to extend its effects. On this occasion, the extension period will be for only 15 days.”

“This order will take effect until 12:00pm on May 15, 2022, without prejudice to its possible modification in response to a change in circumstances or new recommendations by the European Union."

This means no holidays in Spain yet, including the Canary Islands, for UK travellers who haven’t been vaccinated or have proof of recovery, as the following criteria must still be met to enter the country:

Over 18s: Must have proof of vaccination or valid recovery certificate.

12 to 17-year-olds: Must have proof of vaccination, or valid recovery certificate, or negative PCR test result in the last 72 hours.

Under 12s: No tests or vaccination required.

Locator form: If you have proof via NHS Covid Pass, no form is required.
