A restaurant owner from hull has treated his staff to an all-expenses paid holiday in Tenerife as a thankyou for their hard work in a challenging year. Gary Chin wanted to reward his 35 full-time workers, chefs, and managers, with the trip abroad.
He acknowledged 2022 had been challenging for everyone given the rise in the cost of living and wanted to show his gratitude for making his business a success.
Mr. Chin owns three restaurants in Hull where they serve authentic and innovative dishes from Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand, after starting out with a much smaller restaurant ten years ago.
Since then, his business has expanded and prospered and he wants his staff to be a part of that success. He said: "I can't say that other employers should do the same. I just do what I can do.”
"At the moment the whole economy is not great, and it has been a difficult year. I am just trying my best to treat them and hope that in return they would be good to me as well."
