Plane forced to land again after takeoff due to a warning for a door problem

An Airbus A-320 operated by Spanish airline Vueling was forced to turn around shortly after take-off yesterday afternoon after the pilot reported a warning light had activated for a possible problem with one of the plane’s doors.

Flight VY2150, which was flying from Malaga to Brussels, was over the Jaén province in Andalucía when the warning light appeared, and the pilot reported it to air traffic control.

Due to the problem, he immediately had to lower the altitude of the aircraft to 10,000 feet and was told to return to Malaga airport, but had to circle and burn enough fuel to be able to land safely.

Eventually, with emergency crews on the ground waiting, the plane landed safely without incident, and passengers were disembarked so they could resume their journey on a different aircraft as a precautionary measure.

Engineers inspected the plane on the ground and found no fault with the door, which could have caused depressurisation of the aircraft, but only fault with the sensor indicator itself.
