More weather warnings as a Saharan air mass brings extreme temperatures

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has activated yellow weather warnings for heat starting tomorrow (Tuesday) in the Canary Islands, as temperatures will be driven up by an air mass from the Sahara which will also bring haze with it.

Throughout the islands of Tenerife and Fuerteventura, there will be a yellow warning tomorrow, where thermometers are expected to reach 34 degrees by 11:00am.

Then from 11:00am, the warning will also be activated on the southern, eastern, and western slopes of Gran Canaria, with temperatures up to 36 degrees.

On Wednesday morning this warning will increase to orange (significant risk) for the southern, eastern and western slopes of Gran Canaria, with temperatures above 37 degrees, while at the summit of Gran Canaria (36°) and the south, east and west of Tenerife (34°) will remain at a yellow warning.

In addition to these, yellow warnings have been activated for adverse coastal phenomena (Northeast wind from 50 to 61 km/h, force 7, on the southeast and west coasts, mainly offshore) from tomorrow (Tuesday) in the south, east, and west of Tenerife and Gran Canaria and, from Wednesday, also in El Hierro and the south and west of La Palma.

TENERIFE:
From July 12th to 14th in Arico, Arona, Fasnia, Granadilla de Abona, Guía de Isora, San Miguel de Abona, and Vilaflor.

GRAN CANARIA:
From July 10th to 14th in Mogán.
From July 10t to 15th in San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Santa Lucía de Tirajana
From July 11th to 14th in Agüimes, Artenara, Ingenio, La Aldea de San Nicolás, Tejeda, Valsequillo and Vega de San Mateo.

FUERTEVENTURA:
From July 11th to 14th in Pájara and Tuineje.
