Man killed by bus while walking on the TF-1 motorway in south of Tenerife

A 37-year-old man was killed in Tenerife last night (Thursday) after being hit by a bus while walking on the hard shoulder of the TF-1 motorway in the municipality of Guía de Isora, as reported by the Emergencies and Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) of the Canary Islands.

The tragic incident occurred at around 11:10pm, which is when 112 received an alert, prompting the immediate deployment of the necessary emergency resources to the south lane of the relevant stretch of the motorway.

Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics from the Emergency Medical Service (SUC) could only confirm the man’s due to the severity of the injuries sustained as a result of the accident saying that he would have been killed instantly.

The Fire Brigade and the Local Police collaborated with the emergency services, while the Guardia Civil handled traffic flow in the area and maintained custody of the body until the arrival of judicial authorities who gave permission for it to be removed for autopsy.
